HAB HADDAD ; NEWZ ON HAGAR, JAGGER, SPEARS, LENNON & MORE
Posted: May 18, 2012
In today's world of combining music and business you’d better have some knowledge and the wherewithall to be new media conscious and at least have your social media bases covered. This week I have the good fortune of featuring Hab Haddad who can expound on the topic and make it fun.
Thankfully, a guy this smart took the time to give me an education and I am glad to be able to share that with you!!!! Hab is the coolest tech guru you will ever meet!

HAGAR'S FOUR DECADES OF ROCK
I swear, Sammy Hagar is a frickin' genius.
The guy put Cabo on the map as the coolest vacation destination, not to mention that he keeps people happy like no other, I mean creating Cabo Wabo Tequila to sedate us and uplift us.
Well, the latest idea from the "Red Rocker" is putting a tour together that spans his entire career.
I don't know about you, but I would love to see a show that included Chickenfoot, his solo material with The Wabos, a set of Van Hagar with Michael Anthony and, of course, music from the debut Montrose album with the surviving members of the band, Denny Carmassi and Bill Church.
Hell, that is a lot of music and could be a three-hour concert easy!!!
We are hearing that the test run on this show will take place at the infamous Cabo Wabo Cantina on September 1st.
Who is with me on this one?

JAGGER TO HOST SNL…WILL STONES SHOW?
We will see the Moves Like Jagger up close and in hi-def, as Mick will be hosting the season finale of Saturday Night Live this weekend ...
... and, not only will Mick be hosting for his first time, but he will be performing with The Arcade Fire and the decade’s best rock band (IMHO) The Foo Fighters.
Rumors are running rampant that The Stones have been secretly rehearsing in NY over the past week or so, and will be joining their strutting singing star.
I guess we will have to wait for tomorrow night to see.
Can you believe we are talking about the Stones doing a 50th anniversary tour???

SPEARS TO SNUGGLE UP TO SIMON
We’ve heard the news that Simon Cowell has inked his replacement judges for the departing Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger on The X Factor and, is obviously going much younger with Demi Lovato and the inimitable Britney Spears.
Now Britt, who negotiated quite a handsome deal, is proving she is far from a dumb blonde, to say the least.
Rumor has it a key deal point was that she made sure that as a part of her joining the show she is seated next to Cowell all the time.
If you remember, it sure seemed to make some magic with Paula in the early Idol days as she and Simon flirted like crazy, fought like cats and dogs, and always had sparks flying. I am sure Spears figures she has the magic needed to make the chemistry top-notch and boost those ratings.
We also hear that the lovely Brit will have some special jokes and one liners written for her to "enhance" her comedic personality.
So far we haven't heard if Demi is going to have any demands or will be clamoring for Simon's affections as well.
You can bet TMZ will be parked outside of the studios 24/7 to get more scoops on the high profile panel of judges.

LENNON GUESTING ON AEROSMITH ALBUM
While speaking about former Idol judges, I had to pass this along, about current Idol judge and most importantly, Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler, who is obviously a fan of Julian Lennon.
The British talent was asked by Tyler to do some back up vocals on the band's forthcoming release. Lennon posted a pic of he and Tyler hanging at the recording studio on his Facebook Page.
A source close told Britain's Daily Express commented, "Julian is a big Aerosmith fan and has been asked to sing backing vocals on the new album by Steven, who loves Julian's voice as it's reminiscent of John's. Julian's been in his element. It's hoped he'll be joining them on tour too."

GREEN DAY AND NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE HEADLINE VOODOO FEST
Green Day will once again headline The Voodoo Music and Arts Experience Presented by Stephen Rehage. The Grammy Award-winning trio last performed at Voodoo in 2004; their most recent appearance in New Orleans was at the historic re-opening of the Louisiana Superdome in September 2006.
Green Day will be releasing three albums, a trilogy entitle ¡Uno! ¡Dos! ¡Tré! on Reprise Records.
¡Uno! will be released on September 25, ¡Dos! on November 13, and ¡Tré! on January 15, 2013.
Fellow headliners Neil Young & Crazy Horse also lead the 2012 Voodoo line-up which once again features artists from a variety of musical genres, while also reflecting the cultural gumbo that defines this historic and beloved American city of New Orleans.
The preliminary line-up also includes: Skrillex; Justice; Tomahawk; Say Anything; Bootsy Collins; Gary Clark Jr.; and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Voodoo’s full line-up of 150 acts will be unveiled in the coming months.
"I believe this year’s line-up is developing into something really special," says Stephen Rehage, the founder/producer of Voodoo. "Green Day's set in 2004 is one of the greatest performances in the festival’s 13-year history. Having them choose to do their only U.S. show of 2012 at Voodoo is pretty extraordinary. And the confirmation of Neil Young & Crazy Horse is epic. They are one of a handful of artists that you hope to have the privilege to work with at some point in your career. It’s what you dream of when you create something like Voodoo."
Celebrated as one of America’s most eclectic festivals and the final musical event of the annual U.S. music festival season, Voodoo will take place Friday, October 26, Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28, and will mark its 14th consecutive year.

CHUCKLEHEAD'S JOKE OF THE WEEK
An Irishman walks into a bar, notices a very large jar on the counter, and sees that it's filled to the brim with ten Euro notes. He guesses there must be at least ten thousand Euros in it.
He approaches the bartender and asks, "What's with the money in the jar?"
"Well..., you pay ten Euros, and if you pass three tests, you get all the money in the jar and the keys to a brand new Lexus."
The man certainly isn't going to pass this up, so he asks, "What are the three tests?"
"You gotta pay first," says the bartender, "those are the rules."
So, after thinking it over a while, the man gives the bartender ten Euros which he stuffs into the jar.
"Okay," says the bartender, "here's what you need to do:"
- "First - You have to drink a whole quart of tequila, in 60 seconds or less, and you can't make a face while doing it."
- "Second - There's a pit bull chained in the back with a bad tooth. You have to remove that tooth with your bare hands."
- "Third - There's a 90-year old lady upstairs who's never had sex. You have to take care of that problem."
The Irishman is stunned! "I know I paid my ten Euros -- but I'm not an idiot! I won't do it! You'd have to be nuts to drink a quart of tequila and then do all those other things!"
"Your call," says the bartender, "but, your money stays where it is."
As time goes on, the man has a few more drinks and finally says, "Where's the damn tequila?!" He grabs the bottle with both hands and drinks it as fast as he can. Tears stream down both cheeks -- but he doesn't make a face -- and he drinks it in 58 seconds!
Next, he staggers out the back door where he sees the pit bull chained to a pole. Soon, the people inside the bar hear loud growling, screaming, and sounds of a terrible fight -- then nothing but silence!
Just when they think that the man surely must be dead, he staggers back into the bar. His clothes are ripped to shreds and he's bleeding from bites and gashes all over his body. He drunkenly says, "Now...., where's that old woman with the bad tooth?"
